Generation C
Generation C - The new standard for deep groove ball bearings
In 1883, Friedrich Fischer designed a ball grinding machine in Schweinfurt, Germany that, for the first time, made it possible to produce absolutely round steel balls by grinding. This invention is regarded as the foundation for the entire rolling bearing industry and set out to conquer the whole world.
50 per cent less noise and 35 per cent less friction - 125 years later, FAG is setting a new standard for deep groove ball bearings. One of the main reasons for the significant improved performance are the optimized osculation of the rolling elements on the rings, high ball quality and improved raceway surfaces. For example, the alterations include the more efficient HRS sealing as well as the riveted steel cage. In total, these design changes enable applications to operate much more quietly, increased efficiency and higher speeds. The operating life increases while at the same time the energy consumption is significantly reduced.
We improved the following
- Optimized osculation
- High ball quality
- Improved raceway surfaces
- New HRS seal
- Optimized dust shield
- Recess on inner ring with labyrinth-type seal function
- New riveted steel cage
- Large selection of special greases
- Narrower manufacturing tolerances
Your benefits
- Reduced noise
- Reduced energy consumption/higher efficiency
- More reliability
- Longer bearing operating life
- Reduced heat generation
- Longer grease operating life
- Higher speeds
- Lower overall costs
